Dual-Jurisdiction Compliance: Navigating the distinct regulatory and tax requirements of both the UK and Germany simultaneously.
Limited Internal Bandwidth: The internal team needed to focus on automotive innovation rather than the granular technicalities of payroll vendor procurement.
Infrastructure Setup: They required a “ground-up” implementation that was scalable enough to grow with the company.

We acted as the bridge between Ineos Automotive’s procurement team and their future payroll providers.

Phase 1: Strategic Vendor Selection

We conducted a rigorous market review to identify providers capable of handling the unique “startup within a group” dynamic. We focused on vendors who could offer seamless service in both the UK and Germany.

Phase 2: Technical Project Management

Once the vendor was selected, we took over the project leadership to ensure a “no-surprises” implementation:

  • Alignment: Synchronised the client’s payroll specialists with the new vendor’s technical teams.
  • Data Migration & Testing:  Managed the end-to-end migration of employee data and led the parallel run testing phases.
  • Timeline Management: Maintained a strict project methodology to ensure both countries met their go-live deadlines.

Phase 3: Scope Expansion

Based on the success of the initial contract, we were tasked with additional strategic work:

  • Employer of Record (EOR): Sourced a provider to facilitate flexible global hiring.
  • Car Scheme: Identified and implemented a salary sacrifice car scheme provider, aligning with Ineos’s automotive brand identity.

Simultaneous, on-time go-live

The UK and German payroll systems launched successfully on the agreed target date.

100% payroll accuracy

The employee data migration and payroll implementation were delivered with 100% accuracy, with minimal issues following go-live.

A trusted, long-term partnership

What began as a payroll vendor selection project developed into a wider consultancy partnership covering implementation, EOR sourcing and employee benefits.

“The initial work was done well enough that we were asked to take on additional responsibilities, including EOR and car scheme sourcing, ensuring a holistic benefits and payroll ecosystem.”

Planning a Multi-Country Payroll Implementation?

Selecting and implementing payroll providers across multiple countries can quickly become complex. Global HRIS helps organisations independently assess vendors, manage implementation risk and deliver accurate payroll from go-live.
